Top Ten List: How The Best VCs Interact With Entrepreneurs

Since entering the venture capital field, I have observed how other VCs approach the business. Tactics and practices vary greatly and some are better than others. I have tried to identify venture capital best practices. There is more to the business than picking winners; the nuances of interacting with and supporting entrepreneurs are potentially more important. While I have found that there are dozens of small processes that are exemplary, the principles that make a VC effective and poised for long-term success can be boiled down to a top ten list. Although exceptions always exist, these ten guidelines appear to be the guiding light for how the best VCs interact with entrepreneurs. I believe that these rules are worthwhile for entrepreneurs to be aware of, as it is my hope that they will set the bar for their expectations.
